I bought a car yesterday.

'09 Corolla LE. It is green and has power locks, keyless entry, a sun roof, and I am muchly in debt for the next five years of my life.

I'm also wearing makeup and my hair is curly. I feel very pretty.

11:08 pm - Dunkies and Having a Life
I've been so busy since I've been back from school. Work, actually being social. Strange times. I have discovered coffee Zen. No matter how little sleep I got or how hungry I am, during a rush at Dunkies I am zen. I have tunnel vision. All I can think about is coffee. I have no worries or anything. Just something to accomplish. And I feel relieved. By the end of every shift I'm dead on my feet and the shower I take afterwards feels like the best shower I've ever taken. Then I stretch out and prepare again.

I've taken to displaying the Donut Case like Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune. I love the laughs I get from it.

Note to self: 3 hours of sleep one night a week, NOT HEALTHY. Neither is 6. 9 Is optimal.

Also note to self: watch more Indiana Jones. Die Hard 4 and P.S. I love you again.

1:58 pm - Ode to Rod Stewart
OK, so I need five more double spaced pages by 4:30pm, but I need to express my sincere feelings about Rod Stewart.

OK, the guy looks like a caricature or a cartoon, but that just adds to his larger than life persona. And really this guy popped out multiple huge hits. Maggie seems to be his best hit (or at least itunes says it is) but what I really like are the excellent lyrics and themes to songs like, 'D'ya think I'm sexy?' and 'The Rhythm of my Heart'(Which I adore). And who could forget 'Reason to Believe?'

Here's to you Rod Stewart, live long and prosper.

EDIT: Excellent comments from songmeanings.net about D'ya Think I'm Sexy?

-ahh... i sing this song when i'm in the shower.

-Controversy came over this song when some stupid people only listened to the chorus and thought that Rod Stewart was talking about himself. If you analyze the lyrics, you'll see it's told in the third-person, about OTHER people.

-Possibly the best song about a one night stand ever. Yes, Rod I think you're THE SEX!

-one of my mom's favorite songs.

-well this song is about 2 strangers f***ing?!? what is good about that? but other than that its a good song

3:16 pm - Art Squee
UMASS,

You might not have a lot of obscure fiction in your five college library. But you do have very obscure and excellent art books of my favorite artists. (Mucha, Waterhouse, Amano!!!!!!!!!!!)

In short,
Thank you very much

7:44 pm - The Snow Queen
I just watched the BBC movie, 'The Snow Queen' I think I meant to get this DVD but got them mixed up/

I don't think I've ever seen a movie this weird before. it was 90% cgi, but everything was all sparkles and shiny. There wasn't really a plot/acting/talking. Just a bunch of prettiness. Also Patrick Stewart did the voice of the crow in it. So I guess that was kind of cool.

I can't even describe it. But wow, BBC that was super weird.

There was a version of this fairy tale that was animated that I watched repeatedly when I was little but I can't find it anymore. Even IMDB is unhelpful. I wonder what it was?

5:19 pm - Loose Goose - Which Ends Up as a Tirade about Food
I will miss the Loose Goose Cafe when I graduate. I will miss its black and white tiled floor. Bad jazz music and most of all its food.

The loose goose makes the best BLT I have ever eaten. Their ingredients are fresh and that's the number one thing that matters in a sandwich. They get their bread from a local bakery (my favorite is the sourdough but I used to like the baguette because it had sesame seeds on it. They don't have the sesame baguettes anymore.) The wife of the owner, 'Mother Goose' makes the mayo herself and it is delicious mayo. I also like a sandwich they have called 'The Duke' (all sandwiches are named after famous Jazz musicians) which is turkey, whole grain mustard spread (yum, it is spicy) thinly sliced green apples and cheddar cheese. I also get the bread toasted for that extra crunch. The texture of the sandwiches is perfect.

Granted not everyone who works there is a gifted sandwich maker. Sometimes they put on too much mustard or mayo or they just don't know what they're doing. (Yes, you can build a sandwich wrong!) but when the owner is working during the lunch hours, the sandwich is worth the wait. Amherst college has a review of the Loose Goose online and it is the worst review I have ever read. I wonder if the people writing it even had taste buds.

I am very happy to have found the Loose Goose, it is exactly the homey type of cafe you'd find in a chick flick. Chalk board menu, written paper signs and cluttered yet cute counter. I discovered from someone who works for 'Sugar Jones' *coughifyourebakedandneedcookiestobebroughttoyou* which is really the basement of the Loose Goose (where all the prep work is done) buys its cookie dough FROZEN from another local cookie place. In fact the giant cookie they sell is a different type of cookie dough entirely. Sugar Jones cookies are delicious though. And I'm glad they can be mail ordered.

I think most of the Loose Goose's business comes from the catering services they offer. I would have them cater an event certainly because I love them so. I've never tried any of their soups but I am sure they are delicious as well.

By the way, the Black Sheep is terrible compared to the Loose Goose. Their sandwiches are over priced and not nearly as good. I used to be a fan of their bakery (for their fruit tarts) but even Whole Foods sells better fruit tarts. Their short bread cookie is frankly terrible (too dry and not sweet at all) and they have fruit tarts even when the fruit isn't in season (which adds to my disappointment because the strawberries in winter aren't good at all)

PLACES I AM IMPRESSED BY IN TOWN AND WHY:
Crazy Noodles: Ignore their food menu, their homemade gelato is delicious. Their noodles are neither Italian nor Asian but their menu has both kinds. I find their pasta sauces both disturbing and watery. (Watery chicken marsala broth?)
Pasta E Basta: They have okay focaccia bread. My favorite sauce is their garlic wine cream sauce. Very decedent especially with gnocchi. The sundried tomatoes are an added touch and palate cleanser. I recommend eating any dish they have with Oragina. This place doesn't skimp on the garlic (*heart*) Stay away from the fish there though, it isn't fresh and I ate swordfish from there once. It was old and gross.

Favorite Restaurants by Cuisine:

Thai:
Chatta Box - Bridgewater, MA
Has the best gyoza ever.
French:
Chillingsworth - Brewster, MA
7 course French dinners.
Indian:
India Star - Worcester, MA
Mmm best chicken korma and naan.
Italian:

Homemade raviolis, hole in the wall place.

4:36 pm - Better
After many shots and drugs, I return to normal. Huzzah!

For one of my technical writing classes, we're doing research in the library and it is really, really fun! Our teacher gave us a set of a questions we have to answer and it's like a scavenger hunt through the library.

I am dressing up for Halloween as a Roman Empress, I can't wait I love Halloween, even though I have to work I'm still dressing up and speaking Latin.

Also, do you enjoy gender bending dramedies? If so, the Korean drama 'Coffee Prince' is for you. I love it so much! The actors are fantastic and the stories fun too. But it has so much fan service and random nonsensical cultural references it makes me squee with joy.

Also to note, walking past Lederle smelt like toasted marshmallows, it smelt so good, why isn't there a marshmallow scented candle or something?

1:44 pm - Major lulz for Phantom of the Opera
Today I had a real find at borders:

Unmasqued - Phantom of the Opera Erotica

But fear not, writers have taken it upon themselves to write books upon books about this series.
Such classics include: The Angel of the Opera: Sherlock Holmes Meets the Phantom of the Opera And The Phantom of Manhattan in which the phantom goes to wall street and makes millions.
There are even contemporary phantom stories! Like Christine Daly and Erik Deitrich
Or a journal of the phantom's entire past, lovingly created by Susan Kay which 'phans' seems to love.

And through all of this....published fanfiction...guess who gets all the hate? Raoul. He is like the Chase in capslock house- But he needs more macros.

1:03 pm - Triple A towers
Arg. Shitty service. So my car is sitting dead in my work parking lot, same thing happened Tuesday at home and the towing company was able to make it run. So I call triple A, they take my call everything is dandy and tell me one hour and someone will come. Great.

THEN the towing place calls me. They tell me it will be 3 hours!!! No way! That isn't what I have my triple A membership for. I need to figure out BEFORE everyone leaves work to find out if I need a ride home. The towing place tells me they have to tow a car to New Hampshire and then they'll come see me. They say I can ride with the tow truck to Brockton (the car dealership) no way am I riding with strangers to Brockton, where no one will be able to pick me up anyway.
So I call triple A and tell them this and hopefully find another towing company. Triple A calls the towing place and then some how magically the towing place can come to me in twenty minutes! (they call me to tell me this sounding very pissy)

Hopefully the towers won't be pissed off and not help me out.
